How your plan takes shape
A thoughtful process for making confident financial decisions

Good financial planning doesn’t start with a product or a predetermined answer. It starts with listening.
Our financial planning process is designed to give a clear picture of where you are and the possibilities available to you, so every decision that follows actually makes sense for you.
Explore → Understand → Act
01 — EXPLORE
Start with the full picture

Before we meet, we ask you to gather the details of your financial situation so we can review them in advance. That way, when we sit down together, the conversation can focus on you and your specific questions—not paperwork.
We want to know your goals, your priorities, what’s going on with your family, and what’s actually keeping you up at night. The numbers matter, but they’re only part of the conversation.
Both Tyler and Laura are involved in your financial planning from the start, so you get two perspectives on your situation. This creates a more connected experience for everyone throughout the planning process.
we will:
- Organize your financial information and establish your starting point
- Understand your goals, priorities, and family circumstances
- Identify the key decisions and questions in front of you
- Establish or transition investment accounts as appropriate

02 — UNDERSTAND
Understand what’s possible, and what it takes to get there

With a clear picture of where you stand, we build your baseline financial plan, then stress-test it against real scenarios to uncover the gaps and tradeoffs behind the decisions in front of you.
We don’t just hand you a recommendation. We walk through the options together, so what you decide reflects both your financial goals and what matters most to you.
Investment management is part of this process too. As a CFA® charterholder, Tyler oversees your investment strategy directly, connecting portfolio decisions back to your broader financial plan.
we will:
- Develop your baseline financial plan
- Identify opportunities and potential gaps
- Model specific planning scenarios
- Evaluate investment strategies in the context of your overall plan
- Refine recommendations based on your priorities
- Present your final plan
Most clients move through this phase over two to three meetings, working through what we’ve found together until the plan fits.
03 — ACT
Put the plan to work and keep it working

Once we have the plan assembled, we help you put it into motion. The best plan isn’t worth much if action isn’t taken. We’ll work through the next steps together, then establish a regular meeting cadence to help keep you on track in the years ahead.
We keep showing up as your life changes, because a plan only works if it stays current as your circumstances evolve.
WE WILL:
- Implement agreed-upon recommendations
- Coordinate with your other professional advisors and financial institutions
- Establish priorities and implementation timelines
- Provide ongoing guidance through meetings, calls, and email
- Monitor progress and adjust your plan as your life changes

more than a financial plan
Understanding comes before advice.
Our approach is shaped by backgrounds in social work, counseling, and education—not the traditional path into financial advising. Those experiences shape how we work: listening first, explaining clearly, and making sure you understand the choices in front of you.
Our role isn’t simply to tell you what to do.
It’s to help you make decisions with real confidence because you understand your options.

Start with a conversation
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. We’ll start by learning where you are, what’s on your mind, and what you’d like your financial life to make possible.
